How to tell suit quality

Judge any suit on 3 criteria: fit, fabric & make

How suits should fit

A suit should mimic that natural body with a clean, unobstructed tailored drape. Our online stylists actively look for wrinkles during your Home Try-On Box experience. Horizontal wrinkles mean the suit is too tight (i.e. at the waist / first button stance). Vertical wrinkles mean the suit is too loose (i.e. in the pants thigh). Diagonal wrinkles usually point to the problem (i.e. chest wrinkles point to the shoulder, perhaps shoulder slope is off).

The fabric of suits

A quality fabric looks better and drapes better (thereby directly affecting the fit). We use natural made materials like wool, linen and cotton, and refute non-breathable, cheap-looking fabrics like polyester and rayon. Feel and choose your fabric from the comfort of home using our Home Try-On Box process. Our stylists will provide you with guidance based on your need and suggest the best options for you.

How suits are made

The make of the suit is like the engine of a car; you can’t see it, but it directly affects the performance. All of our suits are hand stitched half-canvas construction so they drape cleanly — even during movement —and are built to last. We never fuse/glue our suits. Once you experience a quality Lords of Wool suit, cheap suits in terms of fit, fabric and make are obvious and painful to look at.
